FLATWORMS!!!

Platyhelminthes (platy means flat and helminthes means worm)

Planaria (means it is freshwater and non-parasite)

THIS IS A DIAGRAM OF A FLAT WORM.NOTICE THE MOUTH HOW IT IS AT THE BACK OF THE BODY BECASE THAY BARLEY EVER EAT THAY USELY JUST STIK TO THE INSIDE OF ITS VICTOM.

Habitat:

They live in freshwater ponds, rivers and on plants.

As a Prey:antibiotics

As a Predator"anything that it victoms eats".

Life Cycle & Life Span:a flatworm has a simple life cycle of life it simple grows to when it is about to die and then lays eggs and goes on and on until the stomasch gets to smallthen its victom will start finding them in its feces.then when the victom dies it will be come vonribel to birds where it will then  let out eggs. wich the bird will then "poop" out its eggs to spread eggs.

  • It can split in two and regrow the missing parts from the split.  This can cause problems so they don't do it a lot.
  • Planaria has both male and female parts, so when they mate both will have eggs and reproduce. Crazy huh?  They are called hermaphrodites.

Interesting Facts:

  • It only has one opening to eat and go to the bathroom, so it can't do that at the same time!
  • It moves by Cilia -- little fringe like things on the edges that move really fast.
  • Kind of like a snail it leaves mucus behind it.
