Spirostomum is a cilate. Which means it uses cilia to move around. Spirostomum is found in multiple types of water. This creatures like most of it's relatives feed on bacteria found in it's habbitat. Spirostomum reproduces by conjugation. For those of us who are not biologists, that means they fuse nuclie but not cells. Spirostomum  holds a world record for fastest contraction, it can contract to 25%  of it's body mass in just 8, I repeat 8 milliseconds.

That is a drawing of a spirostomum.

Spirostmum is found in fresh water and wastewater. Spirostmum is in the animilia kingdom, which basicly means that it is a animal. The class is cilatea, sub-class is spirotricha, I'm not going to go into the deatails, but the genus is spirostomum. This porotozoan is the largest of the cialates, they use cilia (plural) to move. Cilia are tiny plants that latch on to the creature. They often form a spiral design around the spirostomum.

I have a hard time with spelling also, sometimes. There is a nice way to spell check your wiki. When you are in edit mode, you can highlight and copy your text. Then, paste it into a blank Microsoft Word document. Have Word spell check it and then paste the changes back into your wiki.

Keep up the hard work. Mr M
