Water Mites!
water mites are very small bugs commonly found in ponds. There are 3 basic types of water mites: the hydrachna, the arrenurus, and the unionicola.
Hydrachna- A hydrachna looks like a red dot and is 1 milimeter long. like all water mites it goes through 4 stages, egg, larva, nymph, and adult. The hydrachna uneatable due to it's bad taste. The water mite has no gills but the water mites skin is thin enough to transport oxgen through its skin.
Arrenurus- The arrenurus can grow up to 3 milimeters long. The males are usaully longer than the female. Usaully water mites are more active in the day than it is at night. The water mitecan lay up to 400 eggs at a time.water mites are born with 6 legs and as they grow they grow 2 more legs.
Unionicola- We couldn't find any info on the unionicola because every website we looked at didn't even now what a unionicola is.
